Escape to the Page is a no-pressure, come-as-you-are creative writing adventure for enthusiastic and reluctant writers alike. Our focus is on sparking creativity using a variety of generative writing activities. Expect the unexpected!
We'll meet around the virtual kitchen table and explore all kinds of techniques for diving into writing while sidestepping our inner critic. This is a come-as-you-are party! Everyone is invited to share their work, but there is no obligation to do so. This class is generative—we will not be critiquing or workshopping writing.

I’m Sondra. In 2005, I founded and ran a Bay Area-based creative writing program for kids called “Take My Word For It!”. Working with young writers for more than a decade convinced me that grown-ups could spend more time in their imaginations, so I founded “Escape to the Page". Over the course of my teaching career, I've taught in elementary and middle schools, summer camps, community colleges, adult ed programs, and private groups, both online and in person.
